A Study of Instrumentation Canister Problems for the Middle Gust Test Series.

Abstract

An attempt was made to adapt an existing instrumentation canister for the Middle Gust series of HE shots. Because of moisture penetration and mechanical-resonance problems, redesign of the canister was necessitated. The resulting canister, while moisture proof, is not usable in fast-rising shock enviroments. New developmental canister designs for use in such environments are described. Results of dynamic testing are presented. (Author)
