Clamps, Rub Strip Material, and Thermal Insulation for Titanium Hydraulic Tubing.

Abstract

This document provides the test results on tube saddle clamps, line block clamps, Rulon LD (Low Deformation) rub strip material, and thermal insulation for hydraulic system titanium tubing developed for the supersonic prototype transport airplane. The tube saddle clamps and the Rulon LD rub strip material were vertification tested at -65 F TO 450 F for use in a Type III hydraulic system. All saddle clamps were subjected to random vibration tests. The saddle clamp standard and specification for bonding the Rulon LD are included. All testing done on the line block was conducted during the SST PROGRAM AND THE TEST RESULTS ARE INCLUDED. The thermal insulation was tested at room temperature to 450 F with Jet A fuel temperatures from room temperature to 160 F, and vacuum conditions simulating 70,000 ft altitude. The test results were utilized in writing material and process specifications, which are included. (Author, modified-PL)
