Shell 405 Catalyst Improvement Substrate Evaluation

Abstract

Fourteen hydrazine catalyst samples on five different substrates provided by Shell Development Company were evaluated in an altitude test chamber. The samples were test fired to determine cold-start life in nominal 5- pound-thrust engines. The new substrates were compared against the standard RA-1 alumina substrate.
