Effect of Noise Signals on Angle-of-Arrival Determination.

Abstract

The simulation model for the CDAA RDF system, developed earlier, has been modified to simulate the effects on the signal outputs of a noise source which is not at the location of the antenna array. The noise is then received by the array and may be considered as having an azimuth and an elevation. This 'directional' noise is considered to be random in other respects (such as amplitude and phase of the components selected by a receiver). The simulation model is used to study the effect on accuracy of azimuthal determination when a noise signal of the type described is present. (Author)
