Analytical Considerations in the Application of Image Intensification to Surveillance Photography.

Abstract

Various criteria for the application of image intensification to low light level imaging systems can be obtained from current technical literature. These criteria and a detailed analysis of their mathematical basis are presented for two major sources. The results are summarized, unified, and applied to aerial photographic surveillance. Some experimental results are presented to validate the analysis and several guidelines for the design of such systems are discussed. (Author)
