Measured Temperatures of Solid Rocket Motors Dump Stored in the Tropics and Desert. Part 2. Data Sample

Abstract

This document (Part 2) is presented to provide a sample of the data that was used as the basis for the results presented in Part 1. Since no other published data could be found on dump storage of ordnance, it was believed appropriate to provide this limited sample for the serious student. These data are from measurements on a 12-inch-diameter and an 8-inch-diameter rocket motor, and are representative of an enormous amount of raw data at NWC. These two rocket motors are dump-stored in the desert and the data are considered representative of maximum high temperature storage conditions.
