Oxygen Regulator (MD-1) Time Change Study for F-4 and F-101 Aircraft,

Abstract

This report presents the results of a time change study on the feasibility of extending the Inspect, Repair as Necessary (IRAN) interval for the Oxygen Diluter Demand Regulator on the RF/F-4 and RF/F-101 aircraft from twelve to eighteen months. Analysis of AFM 66-1 6-LOG-K261 failure data showed that it was feasible to extend the IRAN interval from twelve to eighteen months on the aircraft with no significant increase in failure rate. Increasing the IRAN interval will allow failures to occur that would have otherwise been prevented by the twelve month IRAN procedures. (Author)
