Abstract

One of the study tasks was to review selected close air support (CAS) studies and reports on CAS experiments, as an initial step in providing an inventory of the existing body of data and information on CAS operations. This volume presents this review. The purpose of the review was to describe the articles, reports, tests, and models avaiilable in the selected CAS studies and experiments so that their usefulness to the reader concerned with CAS can be readily determined. The description includes the title, source, and publication date of the material reviewed. The review consists of an unclassified statement or description of the scope and problem addressed by the material, and the methodology used or developed. The review also comments on the relevance of the work reported to the study of CAS operations, including the pertinence of the methodology employed or developed.
