Microwave Integrated Circuit Filter and Schiffman Line Design.

Abstract

Microwave Integrated Circuit Schiffman lines were analyzed and computer-optimized to include the effects of the unequal even- and odd-mode velocities and the length of the coupling line that shorts the coupled lines. For the cases studied, standard stripline design techniques were not found to be sufficiently accurate. Microwave Integrated Circuit parallel-coupled resonator bandpass filters were analyzed and computer-optimized to include the effects of the unequal even- and odd-mode velocities and the foreshortening of the resonators due to fringing capacitance. For the cases studied, standard stripline synthesis techniques were found to give good results. (Author)
