Microwave Integrated Circuits for Lightweight Array Antennas. I-Band MIC Component Design and Performance in Phased Array Antenna Modules and Other Microwave Systems.

Abstract

An investigation was conducted into I-band MIC component design and performance in phased array antenna modules and other microwave systems. Design and performance of several different MIC components at I-band are discussed. Results are presented for both equal and unequal power dividers, Butler matrices, 3-dB branchline couplers, 180 degrees 3-dB hybrid couplers, isolators, ferrite phasors, and radiating elements. Performance adequate for many purposes is shown to have been obtained. Development of MIC amplifiers is recommended for use in modules with MIC components. (Author)
