Propagation Delay Time for HF Signals.

Abstract

The results of a series of experiments to determine the propagation delay time for signals in the HF band over a number of paths are reported. The experiments were conducted so that the propagation delay-time for two paths was determined simultaneously; thus, the difference in the propagation delay-time could be determined for those two paths. The analysis of the data shows the variation of the delay-time differences as a function of frequency, time of day, and other parameters. The experiment was carried out using FM ionosonde equipment.
