HF and VHF Antenna System Study for an LSD/LPD New Ship Design Concept.

Abstract

This report presents analyses, test results, and conclusions resulting from a study of the new LSD/LPD ship communications antenna system. The recommendations contained are based on a review of ship plans, ship communication requirements, equipment or equipment prototypes available to meet the requirements, and operational considerations. The chief conclusion is that ship communications effectiveness will be vastly improved if a more modern approach is taken to topside design. (Author)
