Impedance Mismatch High-Stress Transducer (IMHST).

Abstract

This report is a summary of the developments and program results. This technique not only has been of extreme benefit in measuring peak pressures into the 200 kbar range but its potential for use at higher ranges is also discussed. This technique has also been a useful tool in providing equation-of-state information for high explosive tests. The principle of operation, its history of use at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, the development and fielding results and future developments and recommendations are presented. (Author)
