Selection of Depth for Intentional Explosion of a Deep Water Dump,

Abstract

A study was conducted to determine the optimum depth for the detonation of any deep water dumps (DWD) that may be conducted in the future. A surface detonation over deep water is recommended for explosive-laden future DWD's in order to minimize environmental damage and cost while maximizing safety. (Author)
