Wideband Digital UHF Same Frequency Repeater.
Abstract
A feasibility model of a single-channel, single-frequency repeater was designed, built and laboratory tested. This unit provides a digital or voice relay channel operating in the 225 - 400 MHz band. The equipment receives and retransmits within a single 50 KHz channel minimizing channel usage and maximizing operational utility. A sampling technique with alternating periods of reception and retransmission is used to achieve the required input/output isolation. The equipment operates satisfactorily with both conventional amplitude-modulated voice signals and amplitude-modulated, diphase-encoded, digital sequences derived from a pseudo-random sequence generator.
