Final Report 1 January 1971-31 December 1972.

Abstract

In continuation of work reported under Contract N00024-70-C-1183 on power amplifier technology, experimental solid state power amplifiers, in which the output transistors function as current sources, were designed, built, and successfully tested, with particular emphasis on high frequency sonar applications. An active dummy load for simulating a transducer in an array was designed, constructed, and used to test an experimental switching amplifier. Calibration techniques were investigated for the AN/SQS-23, the AN/BQN-17(XN-1), and the BOTOSS sonar systems. A study of the relative merits of different calibration techniques was made. (Author)
