Half-Wave Center-Fed Antenna and Foreshortened Center-Fed Antenna for 160 MHz to 176 MHz.

Abstract

A center-fed coaxial antennas and a foreshortened center-fed coaxial antenna were developed to operate over the frequency range of 160 MHz to 176 MHz. The antennas, designed to replace the standard wavelength/4 monopole antenna used on the ADSID sensor, were shown to have reduced detectability, improved radiation efficiency, and with a cable choke integral to the antenna design provided antenna immunity from the effects of varying ground conditions.
