Future Logistics Management and Complex Equipment Item Tests.

Abstract

This paper suggests why the coordination and improvement of equipment tests were not a serious problem for logistics managers until the equipment became highly complex. The paper discusses the large magnitude of support cost increases that can occur if logistics management techniques are not brought to bear on this problem area associated with complex items. The paper concludes with a brief survey of the new logistics test management techniques, many of which have been borrowed from psychology and medicine, that can be focused on this problem. (Author)
