Basic Circuit Modules.

Abstract

The Basic Circuit Modules program involves the design of a modular EMI measurement system, covering the frequency range of 30 Hz to 40 GHz. The resulting system is intended to produce a universal measurement instrument capable of satisfying the requirements of all present and future EMI applications. The program has been divided into two phases, Phase I which was a design study and Phase II which is the fabrication of a breadboard system to prove the feasibility of the design developed during Phase I. This report summarizes the accomplishments of the first quarter of the Phase II program. The Phase II requirements are reviewed first, i.e., the equipment to be fabricated is defined to be a complete measurement system operating in selected frequency ranges. The Phase II accomplishments include the development of RF tuner specifications, the design of a wide range LO source and the study and design of the measurement techniques which are to be used as part of this breadboard system.
