Separation Tests of the BDU-12B from the F-4D Centerline Weapons Station.
Abstract
A series of separation tests was performed on BDU-12/B stores from the F-4D centerline station, using several types and numbers of electronic countermeasure pods in the forward missile wells. A total of 16 unretarded drops were made at the White Sands Missile Range from 275 KCAS (Mach 0.48) to 750 KCAS (Mach 1.27) and at 2000 feet above ground level. All tests were documented by 16-mm, high-speed motion pictures taken from on-board camera pods and/or photo-chase aircraft. This report summarizes the test program results and recommends flight restrictions on retarded and unretarded centerline releases of the BDU-12/B and B-57 stores. (Author)
