Active Responsive Filters.

Abstract

The purpose of this contract is to develop microwave filter bank techniques using dual-mode active filters for expendable jammer applications. A single active circuit is used both as a filter and oscillator, making the filter 'responsive' in receiving/jamming situations. This work is a follow-on to a previous effort (see AFAL-TR-71-351). The objective of this effort is to simplify the previous design resolution and responsiveness as before. A breadboard containing four channels has been developed. The center frequency is 3 GHz and the bandwidth per channel is 30 MHz. The approach is a scanning filter with a detection scheme for determining the input frequency to within 3 MHz. The hardware, successfully demonstrated to the Air Force, represents a cost and size reduction from the previous efforts design.
