Concept, Use and Background for HARPOON Weapon System Environmental Design Criteria.

Abstract

This report presents a different approach to specifying environmental design criteria and the general philosophy behind this approach as opposed to methods presently used. Using this approach, environmental design criteria were developed specifically for the HARPOON missile as XAS 2381. This report is the companion or background document for XAS 3281 and provides (1) an explanation of some of the fundamental concepts that provided the foundation for the evaluation of the document, (2) a discussion of the expected use, and (3) a discussion of the logic involved in developing the parameters listed.
