Service Test of Night Vision Sight, Crew Served Weapons (Second Generation).

Abstract

The objectives of the test were to determine to what degree the test item meets the performance requirements of the QMR and to evaluate the adequacy of the maintenance test package. Throughout testing, the First Generation Night Vision Sight, Crew Served Weapons, AN/TVS-2A, was used as a control sight. The two test items accumulated a total of 1,047.5 hours, were transported a total of 457.5 miles, and were used to fire 300 rounds of cal .50 ammunition. The test items were considered satisfactory in the areas of preoperational inspection and physical characteristics; stowage; safety; target detection, identification, and recognition; observation and security; and human factors engineering.
