Determination of Tracking Errors in an Antiaircraft Environment - Phase II.

Abstract

This report documents the development of a digital simulation that predicts the mean tracking error of a human performing compensatory tracking with the T-65 anitaircraft gun. Such tracking occurs with the on-carriage operation of anitaircraft guns against maneuvering aircraft. A prior study of the Soviet 23 and 37mm weapon systems provided much of the basis for this current study. Parameters used in this simulation were determined from models generated from field test data and from tracking data generated on a hybrid computer. Correlations were also developed that predict the variance of the tracking error as a function of flight parameters for this weapon system. (Author)
