Data Reduction Program Documentation ALTOAK (Effective: March 1971)

Abstract

ALTOAK is used to analyze data on radar targets which were not in angle track. For any object in range track by the ALTAIR recording system, the program computes for selected averaging intervals the off-axis angle coordinates delta azimuth, delta elevation, the total off-axis angle (theta), and the radar cross section corrections at VHF and UHF. The angle coordinates are obtained by comparing the VHF left circular polarization radar cross section with the RCS in the azimuth and elevation error channels. The corresponding phases are used to determine the sense of delta azimuth, delta elevation.
