Quasi-Omnidirectional Patterns with a Circular Array of Antennas.

Abstract

Several methods are presented for forming quasi-omnidirectional patterns using an array of antennas circularly disposed around the outside of a vertical reflecting cylinder. The patterns are omnidirectional except for an attenuating notch of sector which ranges in width from a few degrees (notch) to 180 deg or more (sector). The shape of the pattern remains nearly constant over the range 4 to 16 MHz. Experimental results are presented which confirm the validity of the methods used. (Author)
