Location of Shipboard Topside Interference Sources by Photomodulation.

Abstract

Undesired signals are frequently generated in natural nonlinear junctions in ship topside areas. Currents induced by the ship transmitters in ladders, davits, etc., feed a wide spectrum of intermodulation interference in receiving channels. The feasibility of locating the sources of this rfi by photomodulation is considered in this report. A test junction is found to be photosensitive, but sensitivity to be too low to justify further consideration of the method. (Author)
