Low Power D/A Converter. Part II.

Abstract

The object of this phase of the development was to improve the performance of the previous components tested in Phase 1 of this report and package the entire converter on a single monolithic substrate. Improvements were made in the amplifier design by changing to a new geometry configuration to reduce capacitance and hence increase speed. Many of the other components were identical to Phase 1 design except for some improvements for speed and configuration of various functions on a single chip. All of the Phase 1 objectives were implemented and layouts were designed. However, Ragen Semiconductor (fabrication of these chips) continued scheduled slippage and poor quality of delivered hardware forced their termination of the program objectives.
