Growth of Barium Sodium Niobate Crystals for Second Harmonic Generation.
Abstract
Barium sodium niobate growth based on review and evaluation of previous work done at Union Carbide has been designed and assembled. A total of 28 boules from three different compositions have been grown, from which 22 cubes were fabricated. Eighteen cubes have been evaluated using Schlieren photography and their second harmonic generation characteristics were measured. These evaluations indicate that the quality of these materials is comparable to the average quality accomplished previously at Union Carbide. (Author)
