Spread Spectrum Sensor Power Amplifier.

Abstract

This report describes the Spread Spectrum Sensor Power Amplifier (SSSPA) design effort and the three experimental SSSPA units produced during this program. Problem areas in designing the RF amplifiers were related to achievement of the desired 40 watts of output power while simultaneously meeting the efficiency, linearity, and size requirements. These design requirements were met by using the most recently designed solid state devices and arranging the mechanical design so that all components were packaged in a shock resistant, heat absorbing cylinder.
