Hydrofluidic Fly-By-Tube Primary Flight Control System.

Abstract

This report contains the results of a study relating to the development of hydrofluidic (fly-by-tube) flight control systems which can be used as backup systems to fly-by-wire controls or as primary controls on certain aircraft or other remote-power-assisted control systems. Backup system requirements were defined, and alternate system mechanization concepts were evaluated. Design details of the basic system elements were provided, and a system analysis was conducted to predict accuracy, response and general performance. A preliminary failure modes and effects analysis and a reliability analysis were also conducted. (Author)
