Development of a Free Radical Film Printer.

Abstract

This report covers the design of a high resolution, high intensity contact printer capable of producing duplicates onto free radical material in continuous rolls. It has been demonstrated that, by providing a highly efficient spectral radiation through a shaped slit, virtually 100 percent resolution retention of 154 l/mm low contrast targets has been accomplished on free radical material running at 20 ft/min. The uniformity over the format is within 5 percent. The report describes, further, the design considerations made during the course of the program. (Author)
