Finite Element Computer Program for the Solution of Nonlinear Axisymmetric Contact Problems with Interference Fits.

Abstract

This report documents a finite element computer program designed to perform stress analysis on press or thermal fit members. In addition, the program can perform static, elastic-plastic analysis of axisymmetric structures containing contact surfaces. The structures may gap or slide along these surfaces. This report serves as a combination theoretical and user's manual. Examples are given with the finite element results compared to both analytical or measured results. (Author)
