SST Technology Follow - on Program - Phase II. ADEDS Simulation Test Report.

Abstract

The advanced electronic display system (ADEDS) task included a significant level of simulation effort to develop basic functional and operational requirements that could be translated to equipment hardware/software design specifications. Simulation was also used to evaluate selected ADEDS guidance options and display formats to obtain performance comparison data to be used for later comparison with flight test results. The final major simulation effort involved substitution of the actual airborne equipment into the simulator for integration prior to airplane installation. Detailed test data supporting this report, given in Boeing document D6-41832TN, provide results of the navigation and display subsystems acceptance tests, a summary of airborne equipment problems encountered during simulation integration tests, and pilot performance data from simulator evaluation.
