Digital Conferencing Units.

Abstract

This report takes the form of an operating manual for the equipment. It consists primarily of two Digital Conferencing Units which can accommodate ten conferees each, or when connected in tandem, colocated or not, can accommodate a conference of eighteen. Other equipment consists of a test set which can insert errors in the digital links to the conferencers and provide for digital delays to test the effect of satellite links. The test set is also used as the DC power source for the equipment as well as the master clock for all equipment tested in the conference. Finally, three experimental Continuously Variable Slope Delta Digitizers are provided as part of the laboratory test equipment built under this program. This final report consists of a general description of the equipment, installation, operation, theory of operation, alignment procedures (for the CVSD), and drawings. This report is divided into three parts: (1) The Digital Conferencing Unit; (2) The Test Set; and (3) The Continuous Variable Slope Digitizer.
