Quasi-Static Compression Stress-Strain Curves-I, Data Gathering and Reduction Procedures; Results for 1066 Steel.

Abstract

As part of the Core Materials Program investigating kinetic energy armor penetrators and armor materials, this report presents the results of quasistatic compression tests run on 1066 steel specimens at hardnesses of 28, 40, and 54 on the Rockwell C scale. The yield strength, Poisson's ratio, and Young's modulus are reported for each hardness. (Author)
