Color Film Titling Study.

Abstract

This report describes the results of a study performed to determine if color positive material could be titled using a dye clearing process compatible with the deflected ink beam technology found in the F-699 and Advanced Automatic Film titlers. Phase I of the study concerned itself with finding reagents capable of clearing dyes from color film, the compatibility of these reagents with conventional construction materials and the safety of these reagents in regard to both the personnel required to use them and the original color material these reagents title. Phase II combined these agents with modifiers and tested them in a deflected ink beam test bed. Test results were positive. Titles generated on unexposed processed color positive material were of good quality on the original material and photographic duplicates.
