Frequency Tradeoff Considerations Relative to the AN/TPN-19 for a Non Mobile Par Application.

Abstract

This report describes the tradeoffs for choosing the frequency for a precision approach/landing radar. Performance is compared to that predicted for a state-of-the-art radar, the AN/TPN-19. t is concluded that a C-band radar would offer significant benefits in performance at lower costs. This is particularly true for a PAR not required to have the mobility features of the tactically deployable TPN-19. (Author)
