Operationalising United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 within the Australian Defence Force

Abstract

This literature review surveys and analyses the existing literature, policy and practice in order to support Headquarters Joint Operations Commands comprehensive incorporation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 into Australian Defence Force (ADF) operational planning and conduct. It draws upon academic literature as well as practitioner reports on military implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. The literature review will enhance understanding of good practice andinform the development of measures of effectiveness for the ADFs implementation of Australias National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 2012-2018.
