Canadian Forces Attrition Forecasts: What One Should Know

Abstract

This report provides information on what one should know about Regular Force (RegF) attrition forecasts: the latest methodology development, data requirements and other information to correctly understand, interpret and use forecasted results. It also provides forecasts of RegF attrition as a whole, and broken down by Canadian Forces Occupation Authority (CFOA),i.e., occupations managed by Chief Land Staff (CLS), Chief Maritime Staff (CMS), Chief Air Staff (CAS) and Assistant Chief Military Personnel (A/CMP).This work targets both analysts who perform forecasting tasks and the clients/users, such as military planners and other researchers who use these predictions. This work will help bridge the gaps between analysts and clients and improve consistency and transparency between different research groups within DRDC.
