Report of the Task Group on Independent Research and Development

Abstract

Defense Science Board (DSB) has been undertaken to undertake a study ofthe technical management aspects of Independent Research and Development(IR and D). A number of specific areas for study have been established. One of these is to ''Develop meaningful lists of examples of the output of defense contractors' IR and D efforts that are beneficial to the DoD and suggest a simple means of keeping such a list current. "In order to respond to this phase of the study, the DSB Task Groupestablished to make this study identified a number of companies with active IR and IR and D programs who would most likely be willing and able to quickly respond to a request for assistance in this area.
