Inferring Network Controls from Topology Using the Chomp Database
Abstract
In this project we developed extensive new capabilities in the area of Topological Data Analysis (TDA) and its application to dynamical systems. The role of this work in the Complex Networks program is based on the fact that dynamics on networks is a difficult subject, and our combined expertise in dynamics, topology and statistics has been brought to bear on this problem. Among other things, we developed a set of new methods for fast computation of invariants from TDA, found new applications of TDA to time series datasets, made significant contributions to the integration of statistics and Topology, found when certain statistics are sufficient for shape characterization, and constructed a set of new invariants for multi-scale analysis of dynamical systems.
