Video-Based Wave Direction Measurements in a Scale Physical Model

Abstract

The Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering Technical Note (CHETN) herein describes a method for video-based measurement of wave direction in an idealized coastal inlet physical model. This method may be applied in other physical model settings or extended to field measurement applications. Seabergh, Curtis, and Thomas (2002) give a detailed description of the method, validation statistics, and application to a variety of physical model experiments.
