Targeting CD81 to Prevent Metastases in Breast Cancer

Abstract

Results obtained in the first year of this project have shown that 1) the presence of the tetraspanin CD81 in a syngeneic immunocompetent host had an effect on metastasis and on circulating tumor cells (CTCs); 2) the presence of CD81 in thetumor had an effect on primary tumor growth, on metastasis, and on CTCs in a syngeneic immunocompetent wild type host.
