Targeting CD81 to Prevent Metastases in Breast Cancer

Abstract

During the research period, we tested a role for CD81 in breast cancer metastases and found that loss of CD81 expression in breast cancer cells impairs the number of circulating tumor cells. The experiments were performed using a protocol that we standardized for detection of circulating tumor cells in an immunocompetent syngeneic mouse model of breast cancer using FASTcell system.
