On Effect Of Faults In Vibration Control Of Fairing Structures

Abstract

Effects in various components or within the controller of an automated system, can be amplified by a closed-loop system and ultimately bring down the plant itself. Hence it is important to incorporate fault-tolerance into such systems. Before designing a fault-tolerant control system, it is important to understand the different kinds of faults that the system is vulnerable to and the effect they can have on the system. In this paper, we consider the Boeing Open Experimental Platform fairing control application to study the effect of faults. We also present alternate control schemes and compare the effect of faults under those schemes.
