Identification of Aminopeptidase N as a Cellular Receptor for Human Coronavirus-229E

Abstract

Human coronaviruses (HeV) are the cause of 25 percent of common colds. Difficulty in isolation of clinical pathogens has limited the characterization of these viruses and their interaction with host cells. The purpose of this research project was to characterize and identity the cellular receptor(s) for HCV-229E.
