2013 Workplace and Equal Opportunity Survey of Active Duty Members: Nonresponse Bias Report

Abstract

The Defense Manpower Data Center conducted several studies to assess the presence of nonresponse bias in estimates from the 2013 Workplace and Equal Opportunity Survey of Active Duty Members. The objective of this research was to assess the extent of nonresponse bias for the estimated rate of Racial/Ethnic Harassment/Discrimination in the active duty military. The level of nonresponse bias can vary for every question on the survey, but DMDC focused on the Racial/Ethnic Harassment/Discrimination rate because this is the central question on the survey.
