Light Control and Image Transmission Through Photonic Lattices with Engineered Coupling

Abstract

The objective of this project is to develop research programs in photonic lattices that are at the frontier of nonlinear optics/photonics for fundamental understandings in scientific knowledge as well as for possible applications of direct interest to the Air Force. The proposed studies include mainly beam control in engineered photonic lattices, Tamm and Shockley-like edge states and topological surface states in 2D honey-comb lattices (photonic graphene), and light localization and transport in disordered lattices.
