Looking at the Root Causes of Problems: Preventing Repeat Mistakes

Abstract

We, the acquisition community, have traditionally supplied American fighting forces with a distinct advantage on the battlefield, and ours is the best equipped fighting force in the world. But we are also not as efficient as we would like to be in supplying the warfighter. Too often, our systems are delivered behind scheduler over cost. We need to continue searching for improvements in delivery time and cost of systems.
